The Myrorian Imperial Family is the group of close relatives of the monarch of Myroria. Since 1881, members of the Myrorian Imperial Family have all been members of Great House Moomintroth, the ruling House in Myroria. Although in Myroria there is no strict legal definition of who is a member of the Imperial Family, nobles carrying the style of Imperial Majesty or Imperial Highness are always considered members, which usually results in the term applying to the Empeurer or Empeuress, the Empeurer or Empeuress Consort, their sons and daughters, grandchildren, and first cousins. In addition, the monarch can give the title of Imperial Highness to any person in the nation, who will then become a part of the Imperial Family.
Due to the nature of the Myrorian monarchy, the Imperial Families from different points in Myrorian history are not always related. If the Council of Great Houses Under the Empeurer chooses a different House to become the monarch of Myroria, then the heir of that house and his or her relatives become the new Imperial Family and the old one is afforded the status of Former Imperial Family and a government pension until the last member of the old family dies.
Members and relatives of the Myrorian Imperial Family represent the monarch in various functions throughout the Empire; often the titles of Duke of Bellevir and Duke of Nouvé Resdaynea are afforded to members of the Imperial Family. Likewise, the Counts inside mainland Myroria are most often members of the monarch's immediate family, though currently the Count of Ivorheart is only distantly related to the Empeurer.
