Orestes

From Taijitu
Jump to: navigation, search

Orestes is the third planet in the Daedaluan System. It has one moon, Ganymede. The most striking feature about Orestes is its desert, which is almost Taijitu-like in it's appearance. This desert, however, covers the whole planet. It is known that at one point Orestes had water like Taijitu and Ganymede, but it dried up completely sometime around the time that humans were first evolving. It has a higher temperature than Taijitu, but lower than Ganymede. The reasoning for it being hotter than Taijitu is obvious; it is closer to Daedalus than the former. However, it being warmer than Ganymede is somewhat of a mystery; most scientists now believe it is because of Ganymede's atmosphere was recently discovered as being as large - if not larger - then our own. Orestes' atmosphere is made up mostly of nitrogen and carbon dioxide; it is also thin and has a bluish sunset and reddish sky; completely opposite of our own. Orestes is the focus of many astronomers. The world-spanning desert gives a huge platform for desert life to flourish; however, none has been found as of yet.
