Prehistory and the Pelagian Empire
Excavations reveal a human presence in what is now Myroria dating to the Paleolithic era, over 200,000 years ago. Several tribes resided in the area, including the Pelagians. The Sindar Empire would later establish a foothold in the region in [year], but a Pelagian uprising would drive the Sindar from the area and establish an empire that would dominate the region and later lend its name to it - Pelagea.

Military

The Imperial Armed Forces is the official name for the military of Myroria, which reports to the Ministry of Defense. The primary aim of the Myrorian military is to deploy and maintain peacekeeping forces abroad while remaining prepared for a shift to national defense in the event of war. The Imperial Armed Forces are divided into the Imperial Army, Imperial Navy, and Imperial Air Force. The head of the armed forces is de jure the Empeurer, but it has been understood since the 19th century that Myroria's monarch should have no active role in military endeavors.
Myroria's military has always been entirely volunteer (see Volunteerism in the Myrorian military). The Myrorian government officially maintains a position that conscription is a violation of human rights, and it is taken so seriously in the upper echelons of Myrorian command that only in a select few cases (e.g., Eluvatar) will Myroria dedicate funds or associate with armed forces comprised at all of conscripts.
