As an office, it's purpose is to handle the region's position in the game of Nationstates through dealing with other regions. It is an appointed office, as designated in The Constitution of Taijitu. The High Councillor is chosen by the Elected Delegate.
The High Councillor's duties are:
- To keep the External Affairs section on Taijitu's forum in order and to respond to queries or embassy requests that are written there.
- To respond to questions about the office from any member of the Taijitu forum.
- To write regular regional reports detailing events in Taijitu.
- To request embassy exchange with reasons that are deemed to be suitable targets for said exchange.
These duties, however, are subject to change as the Delegate sees fit.
