This is the page of The G Rebellion, a Nationstates Nation, created in late March of 2006. Written by The User Behind the Nation.

History

Being Created and TGR's First Region

Early in 2006, The G Rebellion was born into The North Pacific. This was the second time a nation had been created by the same user, the original being made at some point in 2004 and ceasing to exist around 30 days later. However, this time, I was going to get involved.

Within minutes of creation, recruitment Telegrams began to arrive and, after reviewing several, moved to The Lexicon. After sitting several days in that region, answering issues and observing regional happenings, I signed up on the offsite forum.

From there, things developed. I got involved in spamming the Fun and Games section alongside The Crazy Monkeymen, who would later become a good friend to me! I also became quite involved in the RP section, where I met many of the good people I now call Friends.

For a month or so, Role Playing was about all I was interested in and, for a while, I didn't even become a citizen, though I was fully elligible. This, however, did change eventually and I applied for citizenship and applied to join the native Senate.

Going Places

After being accepted into the Senate, I began to spread out more in the region. I got involved in the Real Life Sections and met many more people, again, many of them became friends. It was during this period that I was spamming very heavily and I began to make friends at good pace, who I then added on MSN and chatted with.

Then, I discovered that The Lexicon had an IRC channel. I had known of IRC for a long while but hadn't been aware that The Lex had a channel. Once I knew, I immediately headed in. I enjoyed the interactions there and the fact that I could meet members from other regions in other rooms there.

I also became reasonably proficient at using IRC and understanding the commands and how to use them.

It was shortly after this point, that The Lexicon declared war on The North Pacific. As a young and eager nation, I jumped in learning about inter-regional warfare, though admittedly, I didn't learn all that much about efficient warfare.

I organised several sections of the war under Insane Power's, the then Delegate, guidance and I am convinced that it was that work that probably helped me get further in the region.

Director and Onwards

A New Regional Position was soon opened in The Lexicon; the title of Director. One step down from High Council and I was desperate to get there. Luckily, I had been chosen and was asked shortly after to take part. I finally had an important position.

Though The North Pacific War was still technically underway, nothing had happened for a long time and it was hurting the region. However, through IRC, during this period of war, I met a lot of people who would later be important.

In particular, I found myself spending a lot of time in the IRC Chatroom of Lone Wolves United (#lwu on irc.esper.net), where I heard a lot about raider groups and learnt about another side of Nationstates.

The then High Councillor of External Affairs in The Lexicon was on leave and I noticed that several regions were threatening to close embassies because they had not recieved reports or ambassadors from our region. I spoke to TCM and between us, we worked to sort this and, as a part of this, I signed up on many other regional forums, including DEN, a region that I would learn more about raiding from.

Then, I had been asked a couple of times on IRC to help raid and I did. Several times. Mostly with DEN. I really enjoyed myself doing it too! Credit for the raids was shared, gaining some credit for The Lexicon.

When the then EA guy of The Lexicon returned, I went back to the rear of the car but kept my ambassador of DEN position. Shortly after, I was informed I was to be promoted to High Council. However, before my role could be given, the delegate, Insane Power, left.

In the interim period, Elialpaca held delegacy and elections were announced. There were 5 nominees, though 1 did drop out. One of the nominees was a very good friend of mine from Role-Playing and general chats we'd had on IRC or over Instant Messaging, Sovereign Dixie. He won the election in a landslide victory and I was kept on in the High Council as HCoEA.

Over the next month or so, all of us on Dixie's High Council worked as hard as could possibly be expected, sorting things out, setting up new ideas, working to improve the region but, during the second month, the Founders kicked out the elected Government for no reason and we were forced to start our own region, one for those who were leaving the sham democracy of The Lexicon.

Current Events

The same night we were expelled from our region, we set up the new one. We were determined that events weren't to repeat themselves in Taijitu and worked hard to ensure we could create an effective and truly democratic region. That region was Taijitu.

For the interim period, Dixie continued his delegacy and the High Council remained the same, with me serving the role of High Councillor of External Affairs. There is an election due soon after the 14/1/07. What happens after that is anyone's guess... EDIT: You won then resigned after like a month. :D
