Taijituan External Affairs
External Affairs, as one of the Government positions of Taijitu, was open from the beginning of the region. As an office, it's purpose is to handle the region's position in the game of Nationstates through dealing with other regions. It is an appointed office, as designated in The Constitution of Taijitu. The High Councillor is chosen by the Elected Delegate.
The High Councillor's duties are:
- To keep the External Affairs section on Taijitu's forum in order and to respond to queries or embassy requests that are written there.
- To respond to questions about the office from any member of the Taijitu forum.
- To write regular regional reports detailing events in Taijitu.
- To request embassy exchange with reasons that are deemed to be suitable targets for said exchange.
These duties, however, are subject to change as the Delegate sees fit.
Stucture (As of 14th January, 2007)
The Forum's office of External Affairs is run with two seperate sections, though every High Councillor will have the right to change this, should they wish to.
Office of the High Councillor of External Affairs
The Office is the place for all queries to the current High Councillor. It is also used for posting official statements by the High Councillor about issues that concern that office.

Embassies
The Heart of the External Affairs Section - Embassy Exchange is at the heart of the External Affairs system, as it allows regions to grow friendships and share information as to how things are going. Regions can request embassies here, or, they get one created if the High Councillor requests an embassy with them on their forum and is accepted. For a list of Embassies, see below.
The Regional Reports
The High Councillor for Taijituan External Affairs will work to release a series of Regional Newsletters, or reports, which will be reported here as and when they are released.

The Taijitu Regional Report
Taijitu
Regional Report for 16th January 2007. Delegate: Sovereign Dixie Member Nations: 318
Greetings from Taijitu; Nationstates' Fastest Growing Region - Over 300 Nations in 11 Days.
Introduction
Hello to those with Embassies/Consulates with us, the newly formed region of Taijitu. I'm sure you're wondering several things about us...
1. Who are we? - Taijitu is a new region set up by a group of Founders; set up to uphold the ideals of democracy, friendship and fun.
2. What are our links with The Lexicon? - As those of you who know our history will know, the Founders of the Region of Taijitu were the members of the last democratic Govenment of The Lexicon. We are not enemies of The Lexicon and Taijitu does not endorse attacks upon them over the circumstances of our founding.
3. Who's in Charge? - For the time being, the Region is being driven, for the interim period at least (Though he has been nominated for re-election), by, the very capable, Sovereign Dixie. The Current Government Ministries are held by, The G Rebellion (External Affairs), Myroria (Internal Affairs), Pragmia (Community), Eluvatar (Intelligence/Regional Security) and Amy/The Crazy Monkeymen (Defense). The current Vice Delegate is The G Rebellion.
4. What are our goals? - To create a truly great region. One that our members are proud to be a part of. We are not going to be just a region, rather, a community of friends.
The Big Events in The Past Week
The Constitution of Taijitu was signed by all interim citizens of Taijitu and, as the Constitution states, Ex-Senators of The Lexicon became the first opening members of the Taijitu Senate.
Nominations for the two big elections began: The Delegacy nominations are off to a good start with at least two candidates already nominated! The Speaker of the Senate Nominations are also going well.
Real Life Discussions have been hitting some challenging topics!
We've hit 300 nations. This is a great testament to the recruitment efforts of members of this region and I am so very proud to be a part of it!
The Taijitu Wikipedia has been opened and several articles are developing well. Particular articles of note include the page of the user "Myroria" and the "External Affairs" page which have both developed very well.
We have opened 6 embassies, with procedures underway for another few already!
Statement by HC of EA
Hello there to you all! I am writing this knowing that in a few days, the section cheering our recruiting efforts will need to grow as we hit 400, then 500 and onwards! I have no doubt that our embassy numbers will grow and alliances will be formed. I know this region will be a success in the future because it's a success now. The great nations of the region have, in 11 days, created a region that I am proud to call my home now, and will be in the future.
Things have set up incredibly. Sovereign Dixie has been a great motivator and has been setting an example that I couldn't have hoped to have set in terms of recruitment, attitude and even foreign affairs. He has done more in his interim than many delegates accomplish in whole terms. I've been proud to serve with him, and every member of the interim Government in this short period.
This regional report is written in the interim period. The next one you receive will be by the holder of the External Affairs position after the elections. I hope to see Taijitu and other regions grow closer under whoever is holding the office and I have no doubt, we can be that great region that we all see in our potential!
(Note - Slightly modest... :P)
Thank you for reading our first regional report!

History (Section for Each Holder of the Office)
The G Rebellion - 1st Term (Interim)
The Original Holder of the Office was The G Rebellion; appointed by Sovereign Dixie. The G Rebellion set up the office and, opened Taijitu's first embassies with other regions. As of the 14th of January, 2007, there are 5 open embassies and three pending requests with other regions. At the same time, one of those regions has a proper ambassador posting, the others are to recieve them as soon as possible.
17th January Update: The Region now has 7 embassies and two pending requests.
Current Embassies (In Order of Creation)
SA Utopia
Requested by a member of both regions, Ranholn, this embassy was opened on the 4th of January, 2007. It was the first Embassy opened on Taijitu.
The North Pacific
Requested by The G Rebellion, on behalf of Taijitu, on The North Pacific's forum. This embassy was also opened on the 4th of January, 2007, when it was granted by Flemingovia. However, The North Pacific's system of External Affairs is done on two levels; consulates being the equivilant to Taijitu's embassies and Embassies there requiring an alliance. Taijitu holds a Consulate there. They were also Taijitu's first Game Created region embassy opened.
Lone Wolves United
Requested by The G Rebellion, on behalf of Taijitu, on the Lone Wolves United forum. This embassy was the third one opened on the 4th of January, 2007, when it was granted by Evil Wolf.
Lazarus
Requested by Durnia, a member of both forums, this embassy was the fourth, and last, opened on the 4th of January 2007.
Red Sox Nation
Not officially requested but an embassy exchange was carried out on the 5th of January, 2007. RSN became the first region to get an official ambassador from Taijitu, since PodGunner, a Founder who had held a previous ambassadorial position there, wished to stay on.
Norwood
Requested by GovernorGoldFarb on the Taijitu regional forum on the 16th January 07. Granted the same day.
The DEN
Requested by The G Rebellion, on the DEN Forum. Granted by Meridianland on 17th January 07. The DEN are the first raider group to work with Taijitu on a joint raid!
