Feye is the name of an human subspecies, remarkable for it's increased intellectual capacities and lifespan, lack of most pigmentations, and, compared to most human-like beings, fragile bones and decreased physical capacities. They belong to the species of homo sapiens, their family classification is homo sapiens nobilis (although this classification is disputed by various groups who believe that one human can not be superior to another or some fundamentalist religious groups, who see themselves as god-created and deny "superiority of god-less creatures"). The word "Feye" comes from the dead language Corae, the quasi-lingua franca used before Inglish established itself as new world language.

Origin

The oldest Feye skeleton found is believed to be about 40 thousand years old; however, most scientists believe that first steps taken towards the modern Feye subspecies were taken already another 10 thousand years earlier in various forms, usually mutations of bones.

Biology

The biggest visible difference between the Feye subspecies and the various homo sapiens sapiens "races" is the complete lack of pigmentations in most body parts (the only common exceptions are the eyes, and, very rarely, the hair) and the much more fragile body shape; Feyes also tend to be thinner than most humans. Very remarkable is also the Feye lifespan; Feye beings usually age significantly slower then humans, and also, with much less negative effects on physical appearance, health and mental condition. Other big differences are the Feye immune system (which is also much more easily modified by various medications, thus making it possible to create artificial limbs which are completely connected to the body much sooner) and their bone structure; both are much weaker than their human counterparts. However, both stay rather constant, uninfluenced by aging, so while a healthy 20 year old homo sapiens sapiens might have stronger bones as a Feye in similar age, a ordinary 70 years old human is experiencing much more problems with his body than a 200 years old Feye.

Breeding

Feye wanting to breed experience many problems. At first, Feye womans tend to be very infertile; unlike the homo sapiens, Feye life conditions were usually rather confortable since they often were members of aristocrat castes or other wealthy social classes, so the urge to reproduce was much smaller then it was for humans.

It is possible for Feye womans to become pregnant after sexual relations with a human and vice-versa; so called "Half-Feyes" usually possess features of both parents, however, in a much less distinctive way.

Culture

Most Feye are currently living in Feniexia; there are however some Feye families living in other nations. Feyes tend to be individualists due to their intellect, however, they also tend to live in cities were there are other Feyes, since many Feyes would like their siblings being "genetically pure" (however Half-Feyes are usually not looked down upon in any way). Humans are sometimes using the word "Feye" to describe very pale or very intellectual individuals.
