Fort James Territories
The Fort James Territories was the pre-confederation nation in Annabe that comprised todays Upper Fort James Territory and Lower Fort James Territory. It was formed in 1751 as a colony of the Bedford Gardens because of the rich farmlands and beautiful scenery, but soon it split off from the Bedford Gardens, creating a new nation, with its capital located in Fort James on the Wiapak River.
From 1763 to 1831 the Fort James Territories was its own nation, with, at its peak, over 2 million residents. Also, Fort James was where the Pan-Nation Congress of the Fort James Territories, Casseland, the Bedford Gardens and New Sweden met every month. The Congress House, which still stands as the provincial legislature for the Upper Fort James Territory, was where it met. The building is now a national treasure and a national historic site.
