Empire of Canada
History
The Creation of the Empire The Empire of Canada started out as independent states ruled by their own kings. These regions were located in the southern and eastern sections of what is now Canada. These states ranged from large provinces to small city-states. In 1920, King George of Alberta brought the other kings together at his capital in Winnipeg. He proposed a union of the small states into a modern nation. Many of the kings agreed to this and sign a trraety called the Unity Treaty. But a group of southern states allied together into the Cornwall Alliance, from the name of the city where the alliance was created. King George led his army against the rebels. For three years, the war broke down into a stalemate. In 1923, King George created his own personal army made up of sharpshooters, cavalrymen, and mountain troops. He called this army the Imperial Alpini Guards. The king personally lead this army and launched an attack not from the north or the east, but from the shores of the Cornwall Alliance. This army smashed the Cornwallish armies and sandwiched the last remenants of the Alliance between the King and his armies fresh from the east. The southern states surrendered and handed power over to King George. In WInnipeg on July 1, 1923, King George was declared George the Great, Emperor of the Empire of Canada and King of Alberta.
Confrontation with the Cree Confederacy The Cree Confederacy was a union of nine northern tribes ruled by a High Chief. Cree territory once stretched from northern shore of the continent all the way to the southern coast. With the creation of the Empire of Canada, the Cree Confederacy declared the Empire a threat. From 1924 to 1959, the Cree raided the Empire's northern towns. The Emperor, George II mustered his Alpini Guard and the nothern Imperial Army; an overall strength of five hundred thousand men. He invaded the Cree Confederacy and fought a long war to destroy them. But the Confederacy used hit-and-run attacks on the larger Canadian armies. The High Chief Shawntoo gathered his army and met the Alpini Guards at the Cree capital of Tichotee. For three days the two armies fought hard to defeat the other. In the end, Shawntoo surrendered to the victorious George II. George II annexed the Cree Confederacy into the Empire. He abolished the rank of High Chief and replaced it with the rank of High King. George II then did something unheard of. He married Shawntoo's duaghter Sophia. With that single marriage, George II became not only Emperor of Canada, but also the High King of the Cree Confederacy and his descendants would have a legitamite claim to the Cree Confederacy.
The Imperial Family
There are currently thwo members of the Imperial Family. The current Emperor Paul I, and his sister Princess Jordan. The Emperor is only twenty-eight years old. He has been ruling the Empire since he was eight, but at the time, the Empire was under the rule of a regent, the Dowager Empress. When Paul Artorion I was fully given control of the throne, he was eighteen, so for ten years he has seen changes in his empire. Many of which he has changed. Paul I has slowly been changing the absolute monarchy that his great-grandfather had made, and turning it into a constitional monarchy with a parliamentary democracy. He wants the people to rule, not an Emperor. Paul is also trying to find a suiter for his sister. He wants to marry his sister to a royal family somewhere. As for the Emperor himself, he is not married. So the Imperial is small and has not seen children in many long years.
