Article the Nth: On the Cessation of Military Hostilities and Occupation

  1. The office of King of Novmir shall be abolished and replaced by the new office of Emperor of Novmir. His majesty Fredrick Maximilians Pembroke shall be the first to assume the office of Emperor and shall be crowned as such at a time and place of his choosing following the passage of this treaty.
  2. The Emperor shall have the right to nominate as many heirs to the throne as he wishes, and these heirs may be drawn from the House of Pembroke-Havelock. No heir, however, shall be considered legitimate without the subsequent approval of the Ducal Council. Such approval, once given, may not be revoked by the Ducal Council. Upon the death or abdication of the Emperor, his eldest legitimate heir shall be crowned as Emperor.
  3. Should the Emperor have no legitimate heirs at the time of his death or abdication, then the Ducal Council shall elect a new Emperor from among the House of Pembroke-Havelock.
  4. The Emperor shall not be permitted to alter the taxes, budget or laws without the consent of the Imperial Assembly. He, however, shall retain the right to veto all proposals of the Imperial Assembly and shall remain commander in-chief of the armed forces.

Article the Nth: On the Reform of the Ducal Council

  1. The Ducal Council shall remain as the upper house of an Imperial Assembly.
  2. Every duchy shall be entitled to a single representative on the Ducal Council. The fashion in which such representatives are selected and their term of office shall be decided by their respective duchies.
  3. No proposal to alter the taxes, budget or laws or to enter into any treaty with a foreign power may come into effect without the approval of the Ducal Council.
  4. The Archduke and ministers of the Cabinet shall be nominated from among the Ducal Council's membership by the Emperor, but may only assume their offices upon the approval of the Ducal Council.
