The Canal Barga is a large artificial canal in Saletsia under construction. It was named after President Barga of Saletsia. When completed, it will be 1000 km long and 800m wide, and runs across the shores of Saletsia, joining the Easteros Gulf to the outer sea.

The canal breaks the monopoly of Xyrael for access to the Easteros Gulf. It also provides a direct water transport for Saletsians between its coasts.

The canal is 100% owned by Connection Saletsia, which is 50% own by Takasia Canal AG and 50% owned by Saletsia.

The Construction

Takasia Canal A.G. and Saletsia have each pledged $3billion (1.54billion at the time of investment injection) for the canal construction. The former has provided expertise and technology, while the latter has provided the labour support. The cost estimated was substantially lower due to the lower cost of labour in Saletsia. The construction was expected to take 10 years.

New Delfos has provided 5,000-men strong labour for the construction of the canal.

Controversies

The western end of the canal leads very closely to the Chinese Loyalist's water. This led to environmental concern from the country, that the canal might affect the eco-systems in its waters.
