'''Trenchball''' is the national sport of [[The Republic of Megatridimensional Order]].  Two teams consisting of 11 players and 2 swimmers play on a field that is 120 yards by 53.3 yards across, surrounded by a 10 yard trench filled with water.  It is played with an oblong ball and players wear helmets and pads, except for the swimmers.  The offense, the team with control of the oval-shaped ball, attempts to advance down the field by running with or passing the ball, while the team without control of the ball, the defense, aims to stop their advance and take control of the ball for themselves. The offense must advance at least ten yards in four downs, or plays, or else they turn over the football to the opposing team; if they succeed, they are given a new set of four downs.  During each down, if a player falls off the field into the trench, swimmers from each team must swim a one lap race.  If the team with the fallen player wins the lap, the player can return to the field immediately - even in the middle of a play.  If the opponent swimmer of the team with the fallen player wins the lap, the team swimmer must complete a second lap before the fallen player can return to the field.  Players may not be substituted for while they are in the trench, leaving their team at a disadvantage for the duration of the swim.
