- ban
- To prohibit a nation from returning to a region. Done using regional controls.
- banject
- Abbreviation of eject and ban.
- banjection
- See banject.
- cease to exist
- To be removed from the game as a nation or region. Happens if a nation is inactive for twenty-eight days or deleted by moderators or if a user-created region updates while empty. Nations and regions which cease to exist can be refounded.
- Citizen Sergeant
- The highest rank and commander-in-chief of the Taijitu Citizens' Militia.
- CitSarge
- Abbreviation of Citizen-Sergeant.
- corporal
- The second rank of the Taijitu Citizens’ Militia.
- cross
- Abbreviation of crossendorse.
- crossendo
- Abbreviation of crossendorse.
- crossendorse
- To endorse all nations endorsing another nation.
- CTE
- Initialism of cease to exist.
- DEAT
- The deletion of a nation by moderators. The capitalization is a convention and does not indicate an initialism.
- defender
- 1. A nation or person that liberates or defends a region from hostile forces. Compare invader.
- 2. Someone who subscribes to the ideas of defenderism. Compare raider and imperialist.
- defenderism
- A political philosophy which opposes the invasion of most or all regions.
- delegate
- The World Assembly nation in a region with the most endorsements. Has access to regional controls unless the region’s founder removes them.
- delete on sight
- A status where a player has been banned from the game and will have any new nations deleted by moderators.
- DOS
- Initialism of delete on sight.
- eject
- To forcibly remove a nation from a region. Done using regional controls.
- ejection
- See eject.
- endo
- 1. Abbreviation of endorse.
- 2. Abbreviation of endorsement.

- endorsement
- A vote given by one World Assembly nation to another to show approval. The nation in a region with the most endorsements is elected delegate at updates.
- endotart
- To endorse other nations with the aim receiving their endorsements in return.
- feeder
- A region in which new nations are founded. The current feeders are The Pacific, The North Pacific, The South Pacific, The West Pacific, and The East Pacific. Compare sinker.
- fenda
- Slang for defender. Usually pejorative.
- founder
- The nation that founded a user-created region. Usually has access to regional controls.
- GA
- Initialism of General Assembly.
- game-created region
- A special region that serves a game purpose such as nation creation, resurrection and ejection or being a warzone. Compare user-created region.
- GCR
- Initialism of game-created region.

- Abbreviation of World Assembly General Assembly.
- IJP
- Initialism of instant jump point.
- imp
- Slang for imperialist. Usually pejorative.
- imperialism
- A political philosophy which supports the invasion of other regions as a way of advancing a region’s interests. Compare defenderism.
- imperialist
- Someone who subscribes to the ideas of imperialism. Compare defender, raider.
- influence
- A measure of power accumulated by nations in regions. Nations with more endorsements again influence more quickly. Nations with higher influence are harder to eject and can do more as delegate through regional controls.
- instance jump point
- A region created after an update begins which will not be part of that update and can be used as a jump point.
- invader
- A nation or person that forcibly captures the delegacy of another region. Compare defender.
- jump point
- A region which updates late, used to store switchers that can deploy to any region which updates earlier.
- lancepesade
- The third rank of the Taijitu Citizens’ Militia. Equivalent to lance corporal.
- lead
- The nation endorsed by participants in a liberation or raid with the aim of the endorsed nation becoming delegate in the target region.

- 2. A World Assembly Security Council resolution which removes the ability of a delegate to password a region.

- To have multiple World Assembly nations at once. Against the rules of NationStates.
- native
- A nation that intends to permanently reside in a region. Has often been in the region for a long time.
- pile
- To reinforce a region by having World Assembly nations move in and endorse the delegate and other friendly nations.
- piler
- A nation which reinforces a region as part of a pile.
- puppet
- A secondary nation that someone controls in addition to their main nation.
- refound
- 1. To return a nation which has previously ceased to exist to the game. Only possible if the nation’s name has not been freed for reuse.
- 2. To empty a region of nations, let it cease to exist and then recreate it. Sometimes used to give a founderless region a founder.
- regional controls
- The administrative tools for a region which allow the delegate or founder to do things such as banning or ejecting nations.
- regional message board
- A simple forum on a region’s page which nations in the region can post to.
- RMB
- Initialism of regional message board.
- sans-culottes
- The fourth rank of the Taijitu Citizens’ Militia. Members are promoted to sans-culottes upon successful participation in an operation. The sans-culottes were the commoners of the lower classes who made up the bulk of the French Revolutionary Army.

- Initialism of Security Council.

- sinker
- A game-created region which nations are refounded in or ejected to. The current sinkers are Balder, Lazarus and Osiris for refoundings and The Rejected Realms for ejections. Compare feeder.
- sleeper
- A puppet intended to lay hidden in a region and accumulate influence. Compare switcher.
- soft power disbursement rating
- A monotonic function of a nation’s total influence in all regions.
- SPDR
- Initialism of soft power disbursement rating.
- spot
- To watch the world happenings for invaders moving into regions at update and follow to defend those regions.
- spotter
- Someone who participates in spotting. Compare updater, piler.
- switcher
- A puppet intended to quickly move between regions and join and resign from the World Assembly to allow deploying to multiple regions in a single update. Compare sleeper.
- Taijitu Citizens’ Militia
- The armed forces of the Citizens’ Democracy of Taijitu.

- Abbreviation of Taijitu Citizens’ Militia.
- tart
- Abbreviation of endotart.
- The Rejected Realms
- The sinker where ejected nations are sent. Nations cannot be banned or ejected from it.
- trainee
- The fifth and lowest rank of the Taijitu Citizens’ Militia at which newly enlisted members start.

- Initialism of The Rejected Realms.
- UCR
- Initialism of user-created region.
- update
- The twice-daily process of applying issue answers, validating endorsements and electing delegates.
- updater
- Someone who participates in liberations or raids at updates.
- user-created region
- A region founded by a nation. Compare game-created region.
- WA
- Initialism of World Assembly.

- Initialism of World Assembly General Assembly.
- WASC
- Initialism of World Assembly Security Council.
- WFE
- Initialism of world factbook entry.
- World Assembly
- An international body which passes resolutions affecting its member nations or which have gameplay effects on nations and regions. Regions with nations in the World Assembly can elect World Assembly delegates who often have access to regional controls.

- The chamber of the World Assembly that passes resolutions with legal effects on member nations. Compare World Assembly Security Council.
