Internet relay chat, usually abbreviated as IRC, is one of the primary ways in which the residents of Taijitu keep in touch with one another. Taijitu's channel can be found at #taijitu on esper.net. Those who do not have an IRC client can instead access the channel using their browser [http://irc.taijitu.org here]. Once there, you can use the command /nick followed by an alias of your choice to change your nickname from the default. If you are not already familiar with them, other useful commands are /join, which lets you join another channel, and /query, which lets you chat privately with another person. Access to IRC is not a right, and you will be banned if you flame, troll or engage in any similarly disruptive behaviors. A more comprehensive summary of Taijitu's IRC policies can be found [[Taijitu:IRC|here]].

This is intended to be a brief guide to help newcomers to acquaint themselves with the Region of Taijitu. Those who cannot find a certain bit of information here should consider asking on the forums after making sure that the question has not already been addressed in a previous topic.

Wiki

This wiki serves as the central repository of Taijitu related information. This includes both in-game information and articles on people, places and the like which appear in the region's roleplay setting. The wiki is a good place to check if curious about something. Creating an account on the wiki and contributing is also highly encouraged.

Internet Relay Chat

Internet relay chat, usually abbreviated as IRC, is one of the primary ways in which the residents of Taijitu keep in touch with one another. Taijitu's channel can be found at #taijitu on GameSurge. Those who do not have an IRC client can instead access the channel using their browser here. If you have an account on the regional forum and are logged in the client will automatically use your display name as a nickname. Access to IRC is not a right, and you will be banned if you flame, troll or engage in any similarly disruptive behaviors. A more comprehensive summary of Taijitu's IRC policies can be found here.

Government

Taijitu's affairs are administered by a regional government. The structure and powers of this government are established by the provisions of the region's constitution. It follows the classical three branch model, with an elected delegate and legislature and an appoined court. It also establishes a system of petitions and referendums. Any person who has registered as a citizen can vote in elections and referendums and hold public office.

Roleplay

Taijitu has its own roleplay in which members can play out their nations and characters from them with other players. There also exists an ongoing project in which members can roleplay individuals or factions in the collectively controlled nation of Novmir. For those who have little or no roleplaying experience or are curious about Taijitu's setting, more information can be found here.
